Delete Your Account

1.Overview

You can delete your Crossroutes account, and all the personal data tied to it, entirely yourself - directly in the app, in under a minute. No support ticket, no waiting on us.

2.How to delete your account in the app

1. Open Crossroutes and go to the Profile tab.
2. Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner to open Settings.
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account (shown in red).
4. Confirm the dialog. If your account has a password, you'll be asked to enter it first - this is a standard step-up check for a destructive action. If you only ever signed in with Google, this step is skipped automatically.

Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.

3.What gets deleted

Your account row, email, display name, bio, avatar photo, friend connections, and push-notification registration are all removed immediately. Any Crossroute you created that no other participant has joined is deleted along with its route. Your uploaded avatar and any cover images you own are removed from storage. A connected Strava account is actively disconnected as part of this (not just removed from our database - the authorization is also revoked on Strava's side), and your referral code is removed too.

4.What may be retained, briefly

If you were a participant (not the creator) in another rider's or runner's Crossroute, your participation is removed, but the Crossroute itself continues to exist for the other participants - the same way leaving a shared calendar event doesn't delete the event for everyone else. Routine encrypted database backups may retain a copy of deleted data for a limited rolling window, for disaster-recovery purposes only, as described in the app's Privacy Policy.

5.Can't access the app?

If you've lost access to your device or account and can't complete the steps above, email [email protected] from the email address associated with your account, and we'll process the deletion manually within 30 days.
